Young entrepreneur’s solution for small business commended in 2004 Evening Press Business Awards.
(York) Sanjeev C. Patel, founder and managing director of CNG Business Services Ltd., a sister company of the successful Capital News Group founded thirty-two years ago by Sanjeev’s father Charles B. Patel, has been formally praised for his concept which assists small and medium-sized businesses nationwide. On 18th November 2004, Sanjeev was named as one of three finalists in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award hosted by the York based Evening Press .
Sanjeev, 30, founded CNG Business Services Ltd. only a year ago. The company offers discounted ATMs, photocopiers, emergency glazing, business rates appeals, office supplies and a wide range of other products & services to retailers and smaller businesses. In recognising Sanjeev’s achievements, the Evening Press acclaimed “Corner stores have found a saviour in Sanjeev. His organisation has built up a huge database of like-minded little retailers which he uses to negotiate hefty discounts for them from suppliers. With stores achieving savings of more than 50% on overheads, the system works.” In the twelve months since inception, the company has saved thousands of pounds for businesses around the country.
Saying that he was honoured to have been selected as a finalist at such a prestigious event, Sanjeev noted that: “Too often today, small businesses just aren’t able to command the same market power as large businesses. With the help of CNG Business Services, however, they are now able to leverage their purchasing power for a range of products & services, so that they can move like a small business, and negotiate like a multinational.”
There are over 2 million retailers and small & medium-sized enterprises in the UK, and they form the backbone of economic growth. Sanjeev hopes to grow CNG Business Services to support more of these enterprises in the future.
